Last year we set and reached three goals!
1. We met the requirements to receive the PTSA Excellence Award.
2. We planned and held the 1st Annual Academic Celebration. We honored the parents of Seniors who were on the Honor Roll all semesters, all 4 years of high school. We realize that parents have continuously "gone the extra mile" to support their children and their success.
3. We gave two $500 scholarships to graduating Seniors.
4. We recognized staff during "Staff Appreciation Week" and during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
5. We published several PTSA Newsletters throughout the year to keep you informed.
In addition, for the past couple of years, the Town of Thurmont, has returned the Town's portion of money that schools raised during ColorFest weekend parking. With that money we:
-Purchased a camera for the Media Center
-Provided Cougar Camp t-shirts for those who helped
-Purchased calculators for the Math Department
-Purchased a scholarship flip chart located in the cafeteria
-Donated $500 to support the School Habitat
We have accomplished much! This year our goals include:
-Hold the 2nd Annual Academic Celebration
-Support and recognize those students who excel in Character Counts traits
-Meet the requirements to receive the PTA Excellence Award (again)
-Hold Parent Education sessions in collaboration with the Catoctin feeder schools
We hope you will join us as we reach for excellence this year. Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:15pm in the office conference room. Both parents and students are welcome to attend.
